Netiquette and Requirements for Uploading Weather Photos

To ensure a pleasant and informative environment for weather observers, storm chasers, and weather enthusiasts, we ask that you observe the following requirements and rules:

1. Purpose of the Application:
  • The platform is intended for the publication and viewing of real-time photos and authentic historical images of interesting weather phenomena.
2. Authenticity of the Photos:
  • Uploaded photos must depict real, personally observed weather events.
  • Historical weather events may also be uploaded, provided the photos are authentic and not manipulated.
3. Prohibited Content:

The following content is explicitly prohibited and may result in the exclusion of the user from our platform in case of violations:

  • AI-generated images
  • Stock photos or otherwise third-party or licensed images
  • Manipulated or edited photos that distort the authenticity or informational value of the weather event
  • Photos unrelated to weather events
  • Any form of advertising
  • Offensive, discriminatory, insulting, or unlawful content
  • It is prohibited to intentionally present historical weather events as current. For example, a photo of a past thunderstorm or tornado must not be presented as a snapshot of a current event. The timing of the images must be accurately indicated and must not be misleading.
4. Quality and Clarity:
  • Photos should be uploaded in the best possible quality so that weather phenomena are clearly visible.
  • Photos that are blurry, too dark, or otherwise difficult to interpret may be excluded from publication.
5. Descriptions:
  • We welcome meaningful descriptions of the location, time, and type of the observed weather event in order to provide other users with the best possible context.
6. Respectful Interaction:
  • Treat the content of other users with respect. Any form of insults, ridicule, or inappropriate comments regarding photos or weather events is not permitted.
7. Data Protection and Privacy:
  • Photos that clearly identify individuals may not be uploaded without their explicit written consent. Likewise, photos that contain sensitive personal information such as license plates, private addresses, or other clearly identifiable details should be avoided.
8. Safety Guidelines:
  • User safety is of the highest priority. When taking photos of weather phenomena, users must always ensure their own safety. Risks or dangerous situations in order to capture photos must be strictly avoided.

Kachelmann GmbH reserves the right to remove or reject content that does not comply with the above requirements without providing reasons. Users who violate this netiquette may be excluded from using the platform.
